European Black woman’s image –

only of lust, never the mind.

 

Poor gals spending

their last pennies.

 

Working hard

with arts and allurements.

 

Buying gold-packaged bleach

to iron out the invisible blemish.

 

Hair – synthetic de-curled,

stretched.

 

Strutting with a weave,

hacked from a bald Brazilian, Indian or Chinese head?

There is a place of nothing.

Only prosperity.

 

A land

without lightening,

 

A country filled

with natural black women.

 

Without the western warpaint

and accoutrements

 

Black women of Ghana

I fancy them all.
